“Končar-Power Transformers” Ltd. for sale, development, design, production, testing and servicing of power transformers, Zagreb, abbreviated Končar-Power Transformers Ltd., Zagreb, is joint venture of Siemens Energy and “Končar-Electrical Industry” PLC. Company code is KPT ( “Končar-Power Transformers” Ltd. ) and it shall be used in text bellow. Production of transformers began in the year 1945, within “Rade Končar” company seated at the address Fallerovo šetalište 22, which grew out of the “Siemens” company established in Zagreb in 1921.

In 1966 power transformers production moved to the new factory in the industrial zone Jankomir situated in the west of Zagreb. This enabled production of power transformers of power up to 400 MVA and voltages up to 550 kV for home and foreign markets. The year 1983 saw the expansion of production plant, creating thus technological possibility of producing three-phase power transformers up to 1000 MVA and 550 kV.

Highest rated power transformers built so far are three-phase generator transformers 790 MVA, 362 kV, manufactured in 2021. and three-phase autotransformer 1000 MVA, 420kV delivered in 2016.
